"Temporary World" Original Oil Painting
12.5"x16.5" Oil on panel.
This original oil painting which was painted from a photograph I took while hiking at Harpers Ferry, WV. The ruins of Saint John's Episcopal Church reminded me of the temporary nature of this world, especially during the change of seasons. Built in 1852, it later served as a hospital and barracks during the Civil War before being abandoned in 1895 when a new church was built in the upper town. January 2021.
This painting is on half inch thick primed and sealed MDF panel. It is varnished and framed with a custom gold wood frame. An anchor screw is recommended for hanging due to the weight of the painting and frame.
